Hello, I’m Nicholas, a social worker and psychotherapist.
I work with NDIS participants, with their nominated care team. With the permission of the individual, I welcome input from family members, carers, and support coordinators.
People come back to me because they feel respected, and in control. This is because I work in a Humanist, Person-Centered manner that respects the knowledge and experience of the individual. I do this because of my own experience as a consumer of psych services. I work collaboratively with the individual, and their care team, big or small.
Please feel free to get in touch, and get a sense of who I am with a 15 minute phone call. It took me a while to find my counsellor, and I encourage shopping around until you find a good fit.
Asking for help doesn’t mean you’re weak or broken, just that you want things to be better.
Services
I offer outreach in Melbourne’s inner east, telehealth and office appointments.
I have worked with people who have issues with:
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Borderline Personality Disorder
- Bipolar Disorder
- Depression and Anxiety
- Broad Addictions (substances, screens and sex)
The people I work with tend to want ongoing counselling. I also offer short term solution-focused work.
I currently have availability on Wednesdays, and I charge in line with the NDIS price guide.
Why Social Work?
Social workers and psychologists work side by side, with the same intention: to improve wellbeing. We approach our work with various tools, many of which overlap. We look at the influences around the person: stress, environment, family, school/work, any inputs. Social workers blend this understanding with individual therapies, to reduce isolation and amp up emotional well-being. Social workers can help all people, whether or not there is a diagnosis.
